Upcoming Mountain Madness Regatta

Mountain Madness Regatta (11/12 June 2011): All boat classes are welcome at our Mountain Madness Regatta. Bring friends and family to watch from our clubhouse vantage point and plan to have a great time camping on site.  People are still needed to help run the race.  If you are interested please contact Jaime Hogan at Notice of Race and Sailing Instructions are available on the Regatta page.

June 1 Sunset Update

11 boats on the line last night for some exciting racing.  Wind was puffy and shifty, generally SSE at 10-15 kts, good for hiking, planing and a couple of awesome deathrolls. Visit the Regattas page or click HERE to download results. Randy McMeekin – RC.

Sunset Series Results To Date…

Three very successful nights of racing have been held so far this year.  For Last Wednesday May 25 Jaime HOgan reports:  The racing series continued last night with lighter winds.  Tanys was clearly on a roll.  It seems we could use a couple more boats on the line next week, there was more than enough space for me.

Results are as follows and posted on the Regatta Page. Click on the image to see a larger version.

BSSC Needs Qualified Regatta Volunteers and Race Officers

BSSC will sponsor (pay the registration fee) of up to 3 members who wish to take the upcoming CYA race management course (see previous post). Sponsorship will be awarded on a  first come first serve basis.

The course is a great opportunity for (potential) volunteers or wanna be racers to learn some of the basics of what sailboat racing is all about.  Sailboat racing is, be it as a racer or as a race official volunteer, a great recreational opportunity providing fresh air, exercise and time spent with other like minded individuals.

Race Management, for those interested in qualifications as certified race officials, presents wonderful opportunities for personal development and travel on a provincial, national and even international level.

If you are interested in having the BSSC sponsor your attendance at the  upcoming CYA Race Management Weekend please contact Jaime Hogan at
